We had an absolutely fabulous time on our tour. The time just flew by. All of our tours were exceptional and accommodations likewise. Most of our tours were with just a very small group which made things very enjoyable for everyone. We loved the idea of the tour guide pulling over to a special spot to have our morning or afternoon tea/coffee break and the ability to get up close to our guide and some of the other people on our tour to share the experience. Every tour was completely organized with pick ups being on time. Your choice of tours and operators was outstanding. Our self drive went very well in New Zealand. It took a little doing, but between the both of us we got accustomed to driving on the opposite side of the road. We ended up driving about 3,000 km and we enjoyed traveling on our own time. Loved Australia also but I know we just touched on a few areas. It sounds like we were very lucky with our weather. If we would have booked a week later we would have run into the bad weather in Sydney and the cyclone close to Port Douglas and Cairns. We loved those areas. Hopefully there hasn’t been too much damage. Thanks Dianne for putting this tour together for us. It was definitely our best trip ever!
Hi Dianne Well, it was a trip of a lifetime. We, thoroughly enjoyed the trip to New Zealand. What a beautiful country, although, expensive as you had warned us. We both feel we saw and did more than anyone would have on a “cookie cutter” type of itinerary. On our leisure days, we had them as full with venture as if we had something booked for the day. We did a lot of walking, hiking up and down inactive volcanos, met a lot of nice people and just had a good time. We were, also, grateful to have a car as we were able to get to places we would not normally have been able to travel to, such as going to Golden Bay and have a whole day of adventure, walked in 2.0 kilometres to Wainui Falls, walking up to Rawhiti Cave, went to The Grove Scenic Reserve, went to The Waikoropupu Springs, a couple of beaches and then finishing the day with a delicious pizza at Dangerous Kitchen in Takaka. Another example was in Wanaka went to the Rob Roy Glacier which was quite a hike. Loved Wanaka and would have loved to stay one more day. Fox Glacier was amazing, I was really taken by that as I was a little worried for me. The guide was super and a good time was had as everyone else enjoyed it as well. The north was very surreal and at times it seemed as though a fairy tale was unveiling in front of us. Which truly was the case at the Hobbiton Movie Set. We enjoyed our farm stay with the Kiwi couple. They were very pleasant and we had a wonderful visit with them. Thank you for everything.
We had a GREAT experience working with Dianne and her firm GoWalkAbout Travel:
1. No detail was too small for her to get it exactly right.
2. It was a matter of pride for her to craft a vacation to Australia and New Zealand that exceeded our expectations.
3. She has deep knowledge of the accommodations, sights and adventures, earned over many years of experience, but happily finds the new and innovative.
4. She was SUPER organized yet personalized and tailored our trip to our specific interests.
5. It was a wonderful 30 year wedding anniversary trip.
Thanks for the wonderful memories Dianne!
I have worked with Dianne in the Tourism industry for over 9 years now. Dianne provides dream holiday experiences to North American clients wanting to venture to Australia. When it comes to knowledge of our great land there are few who know it better than Dianne at GoWalkabout Travel.
42 Days, 2 Countries, 6 States, 1 Territory, 15 Cities/Locations, 14 Flights and not a single mishap. On top of that, we had a GREAT TIME! A TRIP OF A LIFE-TIME! Our six week adventure to Australia and Singapore was our most memorable vacation to date.
We saw and experienced more than most of the travellers we met en-route and we were the envy of many of the Australians we met; we saw more of Australia than most of them have. We not only saw all the iconic tourist sites but also saw and experienced some of the many sites that most tourist would not know existed. Examples would be the Mail-run through the outback of the Northern Territory; we accomplanied the mail contractor when he did his 600 plus kilometre route in delivering mail to a few outback cattle stations and we stayed in an underground hotel in Coober Pedy, the Opal capital of Australia. A large part of this was because Dianne organized it for us.
This flawless trip did not happen on its own. Dianne listened to our wants and offered suggestions to enhance it with “what we didn’t know that we wanted”. She organized, check and double-checked each and every component to ensure it met with our wishes. She did such a great job that in our 6 weeks of travel through every Australian state and territory, we did not have one “hiccup” or disappointment. To ensure that our trip was on track, she and her Australia liasion agent monitored our travel and contacted us periodically to ensure that “everything was ok”. We have travelled to many locations with the aid of many fine travel agents but we did not have until now, the service of a true professional who is knowledgeable and caring. Dianne is a wonderful find and without hesitation we recommend her to family and friends. Dianne will certainly be organizing our next adventure.
I was first introduced to Dianne when I required a travel agent to help me book a 6-week trip to Africa. With her knowledge and my student budget she worked out the details of the most amazing trip I’ve taken to date – also ensuring that I, as a lone female traveler, was safe and taken care of from the moment I departed Canada to my return. She took my “ideas” of an itinerary and made it a reality – it was marvelous and I would return to her services in an instant for my next trip! Thanks Dianne!
What a pleasure to work with Dianne on our trip to the World Master Games in Sydney, Australia. Every detail was covered in a professional and friendly manner. Our visit with 28 people for a 3 week stay in Australia went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Dianne for all your travel needs.
After a great deal of difficulty in finding a travel agent who could put together a trip to New Zealand for my family in Ontario… I found Dianne who did it seamlessly from across the country. We needed a specific itinerary- taking several days out of the trip to visit friends in Christchurch over Christmas. Dianne put together an incredible New Zealand trip for us – we travelled from one tip to the other, East and West included. I would have thought Dianne knew me from childhood as every spot we visited or stayed at – was exactly what I would have chosen myself (had I known the country). Dianne also suggested a stopover in the Cook Islands- which I would never had thought to include – and was a highlight. Well done Dianne!
Dianne has been of great help arranging my travels to Australia. It’s always nice to have someone who knows (grown up in) the country you’re traveling to. Even in adversity she has made herself available to help resolve an issue I was faced with.
I will continue to hire Dianne for her services, you will too.
I highly recommend Dianne. I organize many fundraising adventure groups to places like Kilimanjaro and Everest Base-Camp. Dianne has always been a great help for my personal travel needs as well as those of my groups.
