Meet Dianne – Your Australia and New Zealand Travel Expert

I’m Dianne, the Aussie behind Go Walkabout Travel and your dedicated Australia and New Zealand travel expert. I’ve spent over 37 years designing personalized trips for North Americans heading Down Under, and I still love every minute of it.

Born in Sydney and raised in Perth, Western Australia, I’ve always been passionate about sharing the best of my home country with curious travelers. My parents still live in Perth, and whenever I’m back in Australia it remains home in every sense of the word.

That passion for these destinations kicked off in 1988 when I became a travel agent, creating tailor-made itineraries for travelers heading to Australia and New Zealand. Since then, I’ve worked across nearly every part of the travel industry, constantly evolving and refining how I deliver unforgettable journeys.

In 2000, I moved to Canada, and since then I’ve lived in Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa, and even Yellowknife, gaining a deep understanding of what North American travelers value most.

Go Walkabout Travel launched in 2004, and since then I’ve been crafting highly personalized travel experiences for Canadians and Americans bound for Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.

I spend several months each year in Australia visiting family and conducting site inspections across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. When I tell you there is a hill outside the hotel, it means I have walked it. I always try to put myself in my clients’ shoes, asking whether something will genuinely suit the people I am designing for, not just whether it looks good on paper. That firsthand knowledge shapes every itinerary I build and ensures my recommendations are always current.

My clients span the continent, from Vancouver to Virginia, and each itinerary is customized with care, precision, and insider access. I personally oversee every trip design and work closely with a trusted network of on-the-ground suppliers and local experts to ensure everything flows seamlessly.
