G'day, It has been a busy start to the year for GoWalkabout Travel and we are desperate for summer to show its face!! Please find our update on what is going on in the World of Travel!!

Happy February and ROLL ON SUMMER!!

1/ Floods, Cyclones and Bush fires have all hit Australia with-in the first 5 weeks of this year. Many families and businesses have had a very devastating start to 2011. Tourism is still a go ahead in majority of areas, though some of the Islands off the coast of Northern Queensland will be out of commission for a while. If you are planning a trip, we will work with you, to make sure you visit the areas which are welcoming tourists right now.

2/ Qantas have announced that as of May 16th 2011 they will operate a new direct flight from Sydney to Dallas Fort Worth, on the return this flight will go via Brisbane and then onto Sydney. The flight will operate 4 times per week. In return for this new flight routing, they will be ceasing operations of their direct San Francisco Flight to Sydney as of the 14th May 2011. San Francisco passengers will still be able to codeshare flights to and from LA to connect with Qantas.

3/ Dianne Hall, the director of GoWalkabout Travel has just returned from 5 weeks in Turkey, sourcing and inspecting hotels and tour operators. If anyone is looking at planning a trip to this area then Dianne is a great person to contact and have your journey tailor-made.

4/ Xmas flights are now in our airline reservations system. If you are planning to travel back to North America the first week of January 2012 then now is the time to book. These flights are known to be the busiest in the year and cheap seats will go quickly.

5/ Have you ever thought about a stopover on one of the beautiful South Pacific Islands? We highly recommend the Cook Islands and can tailor-make an awesome package for you. The flights from North America to the Cook Islands only operate 1 day per week, so early bookings are advised. Oh and the best partâ€¦ there are no buildings higher than a coconut tree!

6/ The Aussie Dollar and the Canadian Dollar are fighting it out lately. They have been one for one with each other for quite a while now. The great news is that you come out winning if you go to New Zealand or even the Cook Islands! Go the Kiwis!!

8/ It is that time of year again, where the seat sales have come out. We are seeing airfares from Vancouver to Sydney as low as CAD 925.00 plus taxes ( approx CAD 450.00) these are based on travel from 01st April until the 08th June 2011. Remember airlines only allocate so many seats on each aircraft to their seat sale fares, so you need to get in quick!! We also have specials from all the other major cities in Canada.

9/ Did you know we book other areas besides the South Pacific? We have travelled extensively in many other countries, so please contact us if you plan to go somewhere new and ask us if we can assist.
